Great little cooler, works perfectly. I routed my hoses across to the drivers side and punched new holes in a spot of open sheet metal next to the radiator. Lines are protected by grommets through the holes. When not towing my transmission wasn’t warming up beyond 120*F (Portland Oregon in a cold snap) so I use a thick piece of PVC fabric to block airflow to bring my transmission up to operating temps.

Damn! You have a ton of space with your winch. Clever idea with the PVC cover.
    Thanks for sharing your install.

I spent way too much time on this thing haha. Struggled with my winch and winch connectors but it’s primo now. I plug welded two tabs with nuts in the back on the center support. Used two allenheads, cus the fitment. Pictures shows a phillips, that was before I got a second allen head haha.
Then the left support reuses the horn mounting point and one sheet metal screw at the bottom. Used two screws for the cooler on that side as well.

    Needs to be plumbed.

Took this little video of the routing. I wasn't planning on sharing it so didn't go into much detail. Just sent it to a friend. In the video I say "cools down" but technically could warm up the fluid as well depending on the conditions. Thinking about it depending on where the measurements on my scan gauge are taken, the tranny fluid isnt being cooled unless its 200F. Reason is my radiator gets to 180-190 and I've seen 200. If my tranny is reading 160F, and the radiator 180F , it's actually warming the tranny fluid. (like todays drive)
    https://youtu.be/UiWnwpyLxVc

Plumbing was SUPER easy. The tranny hard lines come all the way out to the cross member. Didn't realize the connections were so short.
I didnt take a baseline measurement of the tranny. I only know I would cruise in the 200 on the highway during the summer, and 250 when I was going up hills.
Its much colder today and I could barely hit 160. We'll have to see in the summer.

Just pulled my 3900lb trailer over Highway 190 into Death Valley All 190hp on my quarter-million mile truck were pretty pissed (Truck weights 5300lb itself, loaded) That was kind of a stupid thing to do. What a grind. 4000ft up, 5100ft down to below sea level in under 20 miles. But this cooler kept my temps at a max 240(briefly). Usually seeing 180*F cruising on the flat

@frenchee nice work. Did mine years ago. Added auto meter temp probe inline not to long ago.

Oh you got an electric fan on it. Smart. Temp def rises when no air flow at idle/slow speeds

Yea for when towing boat in stop and go traffic. Looking to go to a bigger cooler and upgrade to a spaal fan

Great thread all. For those of you that used the push-through ties that came with the Hayden transmission did you push it the AC condenser and radiator? Any trouble getting them through? I might attempt this tomorrow so I was just getting making sure this is the route I wanted to go. Thanks

I wouldn’t use them. Go to Home Depot get some flat bar. Use existing hole for horn after its relocated to driver side.( now 2 horns). Drill the flat bar to accept horn bolt. Ran it straight down to bottom support bar and self tapped that in. Secure cooler to flatbar with drilled holes and zip ties. I hear supplied tires can cause a leak over time from rubbing

best mounted to the frame for max cooling. i have the 677 model, centered on bottom frame with 2 tek bolts. then took the 2 supplied metal straps and formed a triangle, tek bolt to the lower frame. cooler is oriented same as OP's.
look at post #99, except i have inlet/outlet at the 3 o'clock position. less air obstruction on condenser and radiator that way.

That’s what I was thinking thanks!

Interesting, I didn’t think about placing it lower. For some reason my Hayden did not come with the straps but I’ll go pick up something from the hardware store. Thanks for the input.

just a suggestion. i live down south so we get those 95 degree temps all summer long. already on my 2nd radiator (went out before i added trans cooler) so just makes sense. YMMV if you live up north or canada. good luck on your install!
