I have HD...I love it! It is CRYSTAL clear...like listening to a CD. I listen to a local radio station that has three HD channels...their regular live rock broadcast HD1, a classic rock channel HD2 and an alternative channel HD3, and their sister AM station broadcasts in HD also on their HD4 channel. AM stations sound like FM currently sounds...no hissing or buzzing. Just make sure you are within HD range of local stations...they do not broadcast as far as regular FM. I would definitely get it if you are in range.

No subscription...just need an HD radio to receive the signal.

Lots of input above that I agree with, only other thing to add is that I prefer HD radio as I don't have any desire to pay for XM/Sirrius. With HD, you pay for a HU/module once and it's done.

Radio sucks, period HD, or other wise. I listen to what I want, when I want. A little Pandora, or even better, Slacker Radio apps.

I've heard some units will constantly switch back and forth between HD and standard FM when the signal gets weak. Personally I like using streaming radio like Slacker. Standard FM radio will not be much longer for this world. I suspect another decade before it gets pushed off and sold to the highest bidder.

I put the HD radio in the glove box for now. It does not suck at all. I have about 12 new radio stations. And now my deck has no problem picking up the information like song names and artists.

HD Radio is about the only upgrade you can get over "standard" radio. Works quite well if you have no desire to pay for a subscription to either XM/Sirius or to your favorite cell phone plan.
