As you can see they were horrible, use the kit right and it will look new again. But it doesn't last unless you clear coat. Mine are already yellow again after a couple months

headlight is dim or light lens is dull? Rub out the headlight lens with some insect repellant (high deet) and newspaper and change out the bulbs to brighter ones from Autozone or any auto parts

Define "very dim." Are the filaments (in the bulbs) very dim or are the outer lenses so oxidized that very little light from the bulbs is actually getting out? Those are two different problems with (at least) two different solutions / fixes.

If the actual bulbs are dim, check to see how many volts are actually making it to the bulbs. With the truck running, you should have around 14 volts. You also need to check the ground side of the circuit. A bad ground can easily cause a dim looking bulb. And if the problem is on the wiring / ground side, new bulbs are going to look just as dim.

If the lenses on your headlight housings are oxidized, as other have already said, there are numerous kits available out there to polish them back out. If they're really bad though, you're better off replacing the entire housing. And I agree 100% that OEM housings - although more expensive - are far superior to most aftermarket housings - even the ones that look identical.

I'll second this, mine were hazed over and replaced with TYC units from Ebay or Amazon, and they scattered light everywhere. I went back to stock within a year after my truck was backed into. They aren't cheap, but we live in prime deer country, so good lights are a must.

Both my Tacoma and my Tundra have some of the best headlights I have ever owned, especially those high beams.
