anyone know the size of the DRL bulb? It's the ones on the inner side of the whole headlight. The manual says
7442NA but for the life of me cannot find a white led or bulb in that size.

try going through the dealer. Sometimes certain lights can be difficult to find, and sometimes dealer could have better price.

    or maybe try here

Thanks. But yea I've already tried looking everywhere for them I have only found one and it was the oem amber one. Everytime I type that bulb size I get search results for 7443. I might just call parts in the morning but was hoping someone on here had experience swapping those bulbs.

    i used 7443 switchback bulbs from Amazon.com

DRL lights up orange in DRL or parking light position, then switches to white when the headlights are on. if the headlights are on, they flash orange when turn signals are activated, then return white.

i would not run white bulbs in these positions due to the fact that they are the turn signals on SR5's. flashing white lights in the front are not wise.
you do not need load resistors, these trucks are equipped with an "LED FLASHER" relay from the factory.

Perfect! Thanks for the info! You say the DRL light color would be amber? I was hoping it would of been white then switched amber on turn. Thanks for the help.

amber when the low beams are not on. white once they are.

technically you can get creative with the wiring and make them shine white all the time, then amber with the turn signals.
i may look into this myself sometime soon.

Would I just have to input a resistor into the wire to get it to stay white while DRL are on?

Very nice! Nice truck also! What size ohm resistor did you use? Also would you happen to have the name or website that you got the resistor and bulb from? Thanks

    time to get slightly technical...

no, it has to do with the power source.

the turn signals and DRL's use the same filament(amber with the switchback bulbs), until the low beams are switched on, then the other circuit is activated (white light with the Switchback bulbs). you would have to provide a second power feed to the "white" circuit for them to remain white all the time, then flash amber with turn signals(flash signal overrides the white light signal inside the bulb, then turns it back on after the turn signal is switched off)

i put a set of the same bulbs in a friends TRD Sport and it did not quick-flash, even with no load resistors installed. i installed them in mine before i tested the bulbs.. i should probably check if they are actually needed.

I tried the switchbacks in my SR5 like the OP has and they would not operate normal .. they gave the hyperflashing so obviously they need load resistors. Maybe in other model Tacomas its different but my 2016 SR5 they would NOT flash normal

Every vehicle I've owned has needed resistors strange that this would be any different
