This has been going on for about two weeks now...

When I turn my headlights on - the ABS yellow dashlight comes on, cruise control stops working and the engine depowers. Engine depower is not because i was using cruise and it turned off.

Turn the truck off, lights off, start up truck and all of those things go away.

The only code I am reading has to do with the 'Brake Sensor 2'

I recently had a canopy installed, if they utilized the running light circuit to power the tail light in canopy would that be responsible for this?

Also, new battery last week didn't change anything.

    Anyone have any ideas??

How confident are you in the people that installed the shell? It shouldn't have any side affects if they did it correctly. The brake light on my shell is tapped off my tail lights. :notsure:

I think I figured it out... Looks like the folks who installed the shell left the wires exposed, creating a short when it got wet outside.

I'm going to replaces some wires this weekend and see what happens...

Glad you found the problem! Sounds like a crappy place to have a shell installed...

Just for the sake of completing this:

The problem was not the canopy lights, it was the bulb for the brake/tail light. What happened was one of the filaments broke and wrapped around the other one. This caused a short that somehow disabled the ABS system and, consequently, the cruise control system.

Replaced the bulb and no problems since.
