Headstrong progressive AAl

Anyone running these? I’m thinking about doing an AAL on my TSB springs but they are already starting to get flat. Opinions?

 

Many people are as the Wheeler's version, and ICON version are the same one's, only Headstrong's are cheaper I believe.

 

Will doing the AAL improve ride quality besides adding lift? Trying to decide if I should just leave the TSB springs alone. I’m really not looking for a lift in the rear but if it improves the ride quality and load capacity I will probably do the AAL. I am doing 5100s all around with headstrong coils.

What is TSB?
And how do I find what leaf pack my truck came with?

 

Technical service bulletin. The TSB leafs were the leaf replacements for the old 3 pack leafs Toyota recalled. TSB leafs are the 3+1 pack.

 

Toyota Service Bulletin. Look for TSB for Tacoma's. Or take to your dealership and have them check. Certain years get it done. They are going from 3 springs to 4 spring packages.
Look at or for leaf springs recall.

I had it in to replace the rear differential under warranty in December. If mine was affected I think they would’ve been all over it.

 

Anyone else? Opinions appreciated

I’m finding the Wheeler’s version is cheaper even with shipping. Send a message to @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc and ask for pricing. Haven’t ordered mine yet, waiting to see my tax bill and will then either order or have to wait a few weeks to recover.

Also, since I’m ordering a u-bolt flip kit and superbumps or Timbrens I don’t need the u-bolts that come with the AAL. Wheeler’s has been good about taking duplicate parts off and reducing the price and letting me mix and match.

 

Headstrong's AAL is good quality and I've had zero issues with them. They pack them like it was fragile product.

I am running them along with my factory overloads as part of my lift and have no complaints

 

The headstrong aal is $188 shipped. The wheelers ends up being almost $220 shipped

 

Guessing it depends on where you live. For me in UT, the shipping was quoted at around $20 including all the other stuff I was going to order. Plus dropping the U-bolts, since I want a flip kit with superbumps, reduced the 3-leaf AAL to $130. Maine is a long ways from Oregon. HS May be a better deal with free shipping. My point was that people should shop around, free shipping isn’t always the best deal. Plus, I couldn’t get everything I want from HS, was likely going to have to place a second order anyway.

It’s worth sending both @HeadStrong Off-Road and @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc a note before placing orders to see what they have to offer TW folks. Both have solid reputations here. There is overlap in a lot of their products but both have something the other doesn’t as well.

 

Makes sense. Shipping for me was almost $60 from wheelers making it about $220 total as opposed to $188 total from headstrong

 

FYI these are out of stock at HS. Back in "next week or so" is what I was told yesterday. On the waiting list.
