Ok what I'm referring to as the remote wire is the 12 volt ignition wire.

Ok so the harness has a 12 ignition lead, what wire from the stereo is the same. They should be connected. Maybe the pink one?

I'm going to disagree with the other poster here and say no. The red wire coming from the headunit should be connected to a 12 volt positive source of power that comes on and off with the ignition key. That should be the red wire on your adapter harness that plugs into the trucks wiring.

The remote turn on lead is for turning on an external amp if you have one.

You should be able to just match colors on the two harnesses. That's how they are designed to work.

I'm not trying to argue but I've done many stereos and If I there in person I could get it. I don't know what wire is what from here. I know they use weird color coding so idk? But it's been 6 years or so since I've done one. Anyway just trying to help. Hope I didn't lead him wrong. I know it's not complicated, just need to be there in person I guess. Hopefully his neighbor can help.

looks like your 12v isnt hooked up (red wire). that will get u no juice. mate the colors. very simple. red to red etc. that wiring schematic just explains toyota wiring harness plugs.

the blue with white is your remote turn on - which is for an amplifer hookup. the blue one is for the power antenna, mate it to the other blue. understood we dont have power antennas, but sometimes there is juice running through there for some reason.

the orange wire is for the dimmer, which when you turn your lights on it dims the brightness of the deck.

i can almost 100% garuntee you need to connect to the two 12v's, which are the two reds you have disconnected.

    good luck

from what i can see you need to attach the red to red. turn to page 111 of your manual there is a wiring diagram. this unit is a nav/dvd unit. i have yet to install one but if your parking brake wires are not hooked up then that could be your issue.

Then what is the yellow w/the box on it? I thought maybe that was an in-line fuse making it the 12v. :notsure: Idk why the power wouldn't be red but I thought the last time I did an install it had weird color combinations.
