Heat shield

    The heat heat shield above the cat on the driver's side came loose as I was fixing one connection point, the other two came loose as well. (this is a classic example of galvanic corrosion) I removed the heat shield. Can I leave it off?

    Ya you dont "have" to have it just make sure it was not protecting any wires or hoses

    only downside I can think of is the floorboard may get hotter, not sure how much hotter or if it will affect insulation and carpet and what not, never tried running with no heat shields.
