I have had enough with the mirrors and want the heated kit installed... is this DIY and a illiterate like myself be able to figure out the install ? Or should I take it somewhere?

I've had a few people who have paid stereo installers to do the heated mirror kit installation. That said the instructions are very detailed and take you step by step through the process with pictures so as long as you follow along and aren't trying to rush then pretty much anyone can handle the install.

Cool kit but man that exchange rate is brutal on us. Awesome for you to take this on though Up2NoGood, great idea.

Anyone figured out a way to have the heated mirror power on with a remote starter with this kit? I'm interested but would like it to start heating the mirrors when I start my truck without having to get in and pushing the button..

A few people have done it. It’s possible if your remote start has the ability to send an external signal when remote started (+12v or ground).

Interested in price for the in dash heat/mirror position switch. I'd like to use with the Spyder Heated Power Flip Up Tow Mirror Mod.

Up2, installed mine today. Left of wheel with 15-minute switch. I bought the kit through craigslist from someone who split with their truck. The kit sat on the shelf the last three years (don't judge), but I had an open schedule and took advantage of the warm weather. I'll thank myself when the snow falls. The detailed instructions were spot on, but I have to say the wiring harness was top shelf! Wire loom, heat shrink, sealed terminals, nicely done. Thanks for making it easy!

I'm interested in this kit but have manually adjustable mirrors. I know the kit will work with those but I want to get electrically adjustable mirrors and add the heating capability. Do I need to get the electrically adjusted mirrors from Toyota and then get this heat kit? Does Toyota mirror glass work with aftermarket electrically adjustable mirrors? Thanks!

I just sent you a PM. I would like to purchase a Mirror Adjust kit without the mirrors. Thanks!

After having my Mirror Adjust kit sitting around for 7 months, installed it last week. The instructions were easy to follow and wire harness was impressive. I actually used it this morning and it defrosted mirrors very quickly. Thanks!

You can use a time delay off relay triggered by the starter solenoid wire. Use a summer/winter switch to interrupt the trigger to the relay.

I just recently installed Jaimes' (Up2NoGood) heated mirror mod on my 2015 Taco. The hand made wiring loom matches or exceeds factory quality. The instructions posted very early in this thread (for switch under heater control) were first rate (maybe amazing). It took about 3 hours start to finish with a smoke break or two along the way. Fishing the boot between the cab and the door was actually pretty simple. I used a 16" piece of #14 insulated solid copper wire (stripped from 14/2 romex), bent the tip in a tight loopback so it wouldn't snag and fished from the bottom, up. Quick and easy. I finally have heated rear view mirrors!! Jaimes, thanks for the best mod I've made to my truck. You rock!!
