    Driver’s side only.
The lights turn on, but no heat. Any suggestions where to start?
    Thanks in advance.
(2016 TRD Sport - White, with four doors, 6spd manual, if that makes a difference.)

Not Sure where you are located? I have an extra one that you could plug in and try out. Could be the plug or the heating element.

if there is voltage to the element (measured with a DVM at the harness) that would point to an element failure.

The controls are probably solid state components on a pc board in a module behind the roller switch. Its either a bad connection in one of the plugs between the switch-module, module-elements or a fried component on the board. They don't use mechanical relays since more control is needed than simply on-/off.

    As a quick follow up.

Though the quote wasn’t written down, I was told it would be a $1400 complete tear down and replacement for a driver’s side heated seat fix. I snickered. I internally rolled my eyes. I thought bullshit.

I read much of the thread Ares linked about this issue. Thank you for that. And I read a good portion of the threads on this forum that explain how members troubleshoot and work about issues with these 3rd generations. Let me say that I would take the advice on this board, from random members, 24 times out of 25 on nearly any single (truck) issue. The dealership was not able to give me any explanation about where, why, what or how this could happen. Yet in 15 minutes of reading, it seems to be decently explained to me by amateurs on the internet. I feel if I would have taken this to a place like “Tony’s Garage” or “Pit Lane Service”, they would have diagnosed better then the dealership I went to. (Toyota are you reading this?)

At any rate I’m not too bent that this happened. I still love the truck. I’m more shocked at the lack of explanation/follow up from the dealership. I guess I wanted to hear something like, “This is unacceptable on a truck like this and we are telling head office.”
