This is a gasket /o ring that came from what I would call the heater hose . It is the plastic hose (I hear it's metal in newer knee) that connects to the right side of the thermostat housing and goes to a heater box . . Has a o ring/ gasket with notches all over it I cannot seem to be able to find a replacement any help would be great! Pictures attached

They updated that gasket with a new gasket using the same part number (so trying to buy the old gasket would not work). I would see if the new gasket would work with the old plastic pipe before purchasing the new metal version of the metal by pass pipe.

If I had it out I would go ahead and replace the plastic piece of shit pipe with the new all metal pipe. That plastic is going to leak eventually. It is a pain in the ass to get to.

Your right, if your already there, just fix it. I guess I got a good pipe, mine is still leak free.

Seems to me the only way to replace the pipe is to remove the intake manifold? Is this correct? And what would be the steps to removing the intake?

The proper way is to remove be the intake, but I have heard of people fishing the pipe out without taking the intake off. When I get home tonight from work, I can post a link to the FSM on how to remove the intake and/or the by-pass pipe.
