Thanks for all the comments guys!

The 5.29s with the 35s is a perfect combo. I ran 4.56s before, which were fine with the 31s and 33s. Running the 5.29s with the 33s was awful though...LOL What kind of lockers are you going with?

I hope to get some action shots soon! I just need some free time to take it out (and perhaps a front driveline) first. :D

Yeah, I'm working on the driveline... Hahaha I also really need new leaf packs for the rear. And, I have a bunch of maintenance junk to do... Then, it will be time for wheelin' :D

Well I really wanted an ARB for the front but I think I'm going to go with Spartan or Aussie lockers front and rear to save a little $$$. I already have the gears.

Sounds like a good plan! ARBs are nice but too expensive. I'm going to check out your build thread now!

I've got the Spartan in my front with synthetic fluid. I think you would be happy with it, plus it seems to not be as loud with the synthetic. Now a e-locker or air locker would be great for the rear...

You can get away with that on a trailer rig...really not a bad choice...save some $$$ and put it elsewhere...

Honestly, if I were you, I'd go detroit in the front and just spool the rear. You're never gonna DD that Horunner right?

Doin' it backards mang! You want the selectable one in the front to make steering easier!

I've got a spooled rear end, and Detroit in the front. That's what I would suggest. It's always ready to go. You don't have to worry about compressors, and air lines. With the spool, the tires like to chirp around corners, gets a little attention from by standers.

By the way. I've got an 84. I don't have anything but an e-locker on the Taco.

Here's the build for my 84...

I've driven it DD as is, and it did great.

So far, I'm pretty happy with my grizzly in the rear. I don't even notice it on the street. For the front, I plan on just going with a lunchbox locker. Easy install and pretty cheap.

 I like the Grizz Locks, my gf's little brother is about to get a 83 that has one in the rear and that thing is very quiet! I like the Spartan lunchboxes, I've had two (IFS and SA) with no complaints.

Lunchboxes aren't too bad as far as steering. I like the selectable rear just for the DD purposes

For the street, yeah. If you need to "unlock" the front at some point, I wouldn't want to get out to unlock my hubs.

Yeah, I'm not super excited about having to get out to lock and unlock my hubs now. Lol :D

In other news: my gas tank is leaking, so now I get to deal with that issue next...

I have been doing some reading. Sounds like fuel leaks are a common issue. There is a charcoal canister that can become filled with gas if the gas tank gets overfilled. This causes pressure to build, which causes leaks.

Hmm...I better stop topping off then.
How do you locate the canister?

I have read that topping off is the reason that these fill and fail. I don't know if that is true or not, but not topping off might be the way to go-- just in case. The charcoal canister is an emissions feature. The gas fumes from the tank vent into the canister, rather than the atmosphere. Supposedly, when you top off, the tank gets overfilled and sends fuel into the canister. Then when fumes need to vent off the tank, they will have no where to go. Pressure builds and leaks form.

The canister is on the firewall below the wiper motor, I believe. The field service manual has a section on checking it and cleaning it with compressed air.
