Since it has that truss on the bottom from the diff to the end of the housing, I think it is an 84 or 85.

You still have the factory cassette/radio player, right? Has the cassette player stopped working for you?
Mine stopped working for a few years but then started working again a few years ago and just now it stopped again... :annoyed:

Yep, I still have the factory cassette and radio set up. Mine still works (well the radio at least.) I have been trying to find some good cassette tapes to listen to in the truck... But no luck yet. Lol

My heat/ac controls worked off and on for a while... Now they work, but don't light up. I agree it's annoying. I'd track down the problem... But it sounds like a pain to deal with...

Huh, that's strange. I've never had any problems with the heat. My ac will get overloaded or something and will shut down if it's been running for a while, which is annoying, but after turning it off for a bit it starts up again just fine.
I feel like there's some switch that's not connecting with the tape player, but I honestly have no clue.

Oh and check thrift stores. I went to one and they had tapes for like 25 or 50 cents each. Of course they're pretty picked through, but you might find some good ones there.

Thanks! I plan on starting the swap in a few weeks. You have any pics of your 4runner?

Good idea! Hopefully I can find some good ones. And, I hope buying cassette tapes in 2012 isn't too embarrassing...Lol

That's a clean looking 4runner! I like it. What size tires are on it?

Yesterday we removed all the IFS:

Called it a night after hanging the springs and bolting on the axle:

Should have it on tires and drivable by this afternoon!
