The leaf springs should relax causing the shackle to angle back more once they are broken in.

What kind of inners do you have in the front axle? Stock birfields or did you upgrade?

Stock birfields for now. I want longfields, but I'm going to wait on those.

Nice build! I had a '93 reg cab and LOVED it. The SAS and crawler made it totally awesome in the rocks. These are really great trucks and I'm sure you're gonna have a blast with it.

Here's how I had mine set up.

That's a pretty bad ass pickup. I've seen your Tacoma build-- that's a sweet truck too!

That's a good idea for the front driveline. Can a square driveline be balanced though?

    Thanks!

Looking, good! :) Hopefully those spings settle a lot.

Those square DS are very strong, don't know how well they can be balanced though.... probably not very well if at all. But that shouldn't matter with manual hubs. Vibes won't be bad (if at all) in 4wd due to the slow speeds, but normal driving wouldn't be affected since the front DS wont be spinning..

^What he said, it won't need balancing unless you're in 4wd alot, you probably do in the winter though.

Yeah, I realize that an unbalanced driveline isn't a big deal since it isn't spinning in 2wd. But, I still use the truck as my daily driver sometimes, so I'd like to have the option of 4hi on the street in the winter. I have found a couple options that I think should work. Just need some parts and to do a bit more research. :D

If you intend to push it pretty hard, look into the upgraded shaft from Trail-Gear. As much as I don't care for them, the shaft is really stout!

    A few bolts are different.
    Great looking truck!

You are correct. 84-85 axle. Those years have the full length truss that extends under the ubolts.
