Hi guys so I'm still a relatively new member, and I've had my Tacoma for about 4 months now. It's my daily and wheeling rig, it has a 3" spacer lift, 265 75 a/t tires. I bought it knowing that it can take a lot of abuse however I have had to repair quite a bit on it so far: new rear axle bearings and seals (breather got clogged with mud which caused the seals to leak into the drums), drum breaks rebuilt, new balljoints and outer tie rod ends, multiple wheel studs have broken which I also fixed, and a new alternator. I was looking for advise on what things usually fail under heavy abuse (on and off road), and what upgrades are helpful

Alright, I really like the ammount of lift, what would be a good lift kit? I have about 3K total budget and I was thinking 5100's with an AAL in the rear

Get a mid priced leaf pack from all-pro, OME, or and 5100's all around. Still have $$$ for wheels and tires. Look for deals on wheels and tires on here (wheels and tires for sale thread) and on Craigslist. You'll save close to 25-50% on wheels and tires that way. AAL is good for on road towing, but for off-roading get a decent leaf pack. If you can weld then you can consider longer rear springs, but for your budget it won't happen in you have to pay a fab guy. Consider staying SOA with one of those leaf packs I mentioned and your axle wrap will not be nearly the same and you'll handle way better on and off road.
