Well I'm the very proud new owner of a '06 Reg cab 4x4. I've known I've wanted one of these trucks for many many years but being a "car" person I've could never bring myself to buy one. But when my last "winter beater" started to die I decided to give myself a present. And I couldn't be happier.

Alittle background, I've owned 4 Subarus for winter beaters/ daily drivers. I would not consider anything but an AWD/4WD where I live. [South of buffalo, affectionatly called "Ski Country"] Anyone from Western NY can tell you how bad the weather can turn on you in my region thanks to lake effect, hence the need for 4wd. I live in a rural area that is plowed once every 24hrs if you are lucky......

I plan on modding my taco to deal with any driving condition as I have done with my subaru's. While I don't need anymore ground clearance for what I have planned, better traction would be nice. So what size tire can I go to with stock wheel/ suspension?[Height and width] Also are there any other "snow" mods that will help? I do plan on a brush gaurd with hella lights [I love them] but would like to keep all of this on a budget as I am also building a Miata for my summer car at the moment.

    Thanks!

Last Subaru: '95 Impreza Outback 5-speed. Mods: Driving lights, larger tire [205-75-14], Custom skid plate, and home-made recovery kit. I loved this car but on to bigger and better things. My favorite memory was of last year when I pulled out a Jeep CJ and a ford F-250 with this car...lol.

My new fav thing. My GF standing next to my truck about 2 hours after purchase. Dead stock for now except for a trailer brake controller installed by a previous owner.

Lol, yeah I know. I was pricing out brushgaurds and lift kits before I even bought the truck. But for now I'm going to keep it stock. I was thinking about lifting it, but the only offroading I do can be done with stock clearance...
