Welcome Hunter. Glad to have you guys at our disposable. Input from you guys is expensive at the stealerships. I can't even ask the service advisor to let me ask you guys a question. For example, would you know if Toyota has mentioned anything about the tacomas switching into first gear while waiting at a light? You know it feels like you're being tapped from behind. Nothing to do with the a/c... in fact its off. I've got the V6 auto. Hate the feeling but oh well. I know many have addressed the issue but I have yet heard of an official response. Things I've heard... axle wrap, a/c surge, got to keep your foot on the brake pedal harder (like a mad stop), etc... What's your opinion?

Hey hows it going yes i am well aware of the problem with the with the tap feeling and havent found a cure for it yet but i am def working on it. The Tacoma isnt the only vehicle that has that issue the Tundra has the same problem but seems to be more violent. The things that you have heard about axle wrap and a/c surge seems to be part of the problem. I dont want to stear you wrong but with some of the avalons and smaller vehicles i have managed to improve the shift feeling. I haven't had the chance on a tacoma yet but resetting the vehicles memory in the Trans ecu has had some effect but like i said i haven't tried it on a tacoma. If you check back with me every once in a while i am constantly reading new bullitens released from toyota and would be more than happy to help you with the issue.
