Hi there I can’t seem to find anything with these same issues. 70yr old dad was in his Tacoma listening to radio for a second in acc not running went to roll window up driver went up passenger stopped about 6 in from top. Installed a new battery, posts are clean cable ends clean ground good. Turn key on dash lights come on dome light comes on head lights come on. Won’t turn over, radio doesn’t work, blinkers don’t work, locks don’t work, windows don’t work, won’t go into gear without pushing the button by gear selector. What in the heck..? This all happened after driving it 20 min to tractor supply with no issues.

Maybe it's defective or not charged enough. Or loose connection.

Where did you get the new battery, and is it exact spec for your dad's truck?

Take it back and have them bench test the battery under load.

    4 cyl or 6 cyl?

Do you have a multi-tester to check the voltage? They can be really sensitive if under 12.6.

Is the battery serviceable, and to you have a hydrometer? Might have one cell that is low/dead.

4 banger I have a multimeter I get the start at the battery but that loader will jump a 10 year old dead as fuck battery I don’t get y with it connected to this little truck the windows and radio wouldn’t come on. Is there a fusible link or main fuse somewhere hidden

Hm. Did you check the starter fuse and starter? They tend to fail when it gets hot out. Did you try hammer tapping the starter when attempting to crank?

This sounds like two possible things to me. Take it with a grain of salt because I'm very limited.

It seems as if power is supplied to certain circuits. Is there a main fuse or relay that could be halting the current?

It seems like you know what you're doing, but is it possible the battery was hooked up backwards? Reverse polarity?

Disconnect the battery and make sure that there is not a shortage.

I didn’t mess with starter as nothing electrical is working if it was just a cranking issue I would have done that already. I’m thinking the same thing there is a fusible link or something I’m not seeing stopping power from getting to certain circuits, I was not there when he hooked the battery up when I got there to drag it back to the shop battery was hooked correctly dad said no one touched it but him

Is it possible something in the ignition is screwed but that doesn’t explain the locks or breaks as they work when key is off n out

This is not going to get solved unless you apply basic troubleshooting skills with a multimeter. Start with the battery. Verify it's good. Verify you do not have a drain on the battery. Check all fuses and grounds with a voltage test and continuity test. Then study the wiring diagram. Also scrutinize any aftermarket stuff (stereos, remote starters, car alarms, aftermarket lights and switches, trailer wiring, etc...). Issues like this are almost always because of aftermarket wiring somewhere on the vehicle or grounding that has been opened from rust or maintenance. If that all checks out, then pick one system, like the starting loop and find out where you are breaking down. It doesn't make much sense that you have multiple systems fail at once unless the problem is VERY close to the battery. I suspect you have a bad lead or ground between the battery and the starter or fuse box.

Do you live in the rust belt?

Live in north Texas Oklahoma border the truck is bone stock belongs to my 70 year old dad, and yes it’s a freaking purple unicorn every thing I’ve read the radio works but won’t start or nothing works at all, haven’t seen anything where nothing works but the head lights high beams and dome. And can’t get windows or locks to work with a brand new battery while being jumped to a track loader
