I am talking about the turn signal wire colors, i am a hard wiring a led tailgate bar and for some reason my 4 pin trailer plug in is ot working i can only get running lights and brake signal no turn signals. I plugged the led bar in my other truck and it worked perfect. Was going to try and hardwire into the turn signals see if that would get led bar working? Any ideas what might be wrong with turning lights checked tow fuse amd it was fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For science, are you getting the turn signals to the 7 pin?

The wires you are looking to tap into are the following...
Driver Side = Yellow (turn signal) and White/Black (ground)
Passenger Side = Blue (turn signal) and White /Black (ground)
*these are the wires in the taillights

The other thinner wires that you see all these YouTOOBERS tapping for LED light bulb swaps are the wrong wires, the ones I listed are the correct ones. If you are wanting to do this through the pin connector then the easiest way to find which ones on there are to get a multi meter and check them one at time while the turn signal is on

Just a preface: I'm still fairly new about wiring and etc, so please forgive my ignorance/being a noob.

I have question regarding something somewhat similar. I recently put on a red LED light bar on rear of truck from Rough Country:

    https://www.roughcountry.com/led-tailgate-light-strip-78860.html?find=2016-toyota-tundra-4wd-567150

It installed no issues and plugged into the 4 prong connector on the rear bumper. However, there is a white wire that runs to the reverse lights to activate the white lights on the LED bar. This is what the instructions reads from their website:

I would rather run the wire to the 7 pin trailer plug for a "cleaner install. But I'm not sure which wire would be right for that. Also if I were to run it to the tail lights, would you have to know which wire on the reverse lights is the "reverse light positive wire?"

If you have any insight, I'd greatly appreciate it.
