I think we'll see a lot more of this as more Colorado's hit the dirt

But did the air bags go off?

Glad to see a safe recovery and no further damage to the Colorado

Here's the video and you can see it taco when he was going driver - but I really don't see where the stress point truly was.

The ZR2 Has way more threads on the inner tie rod vs the Tacoma, and Tacoma has longer outer tie rods. This probably helps, I can only imagine this happening again on the ZR2

Another side note - the power steering wins every time, unlike our trucks that whip the steering wheel when it hits something; the ZR2 Numbs all of that, causing excessive pressure on tie rods to force against what can be physically even possible to turn

    Just buy Yota boys

That's a weird break. He wasn't bound up like I thought I was going to see. As far as tie rods not being an issue on Yota's:

My tie rod "broke" last summer on the tacoma.
I drove on a very bad pot hole rd a few times over the weekend. Then I drove home 60 miles at up to 65mph. As I was backing in my driveway the truck just squatted hard and wouldn't move. Ripped the tie rod threads out of the end....

I'm thinking it's better to have the tie rods the weekend link vs anything else

I already ordered a set for the Taco to keep on during the trails. Easy fix if you have the part

Well yeah when you run 35s it's a whole nother ballgame lol

I'm replacing my tie rods this weekend or next, got them coming in the mail Thursday. Just preventative maintenace really, noticed some play in them when doing my LBJs and would rather not suffer a breakage on the trail if I can help it

That break was on 33's. lol Here's the spot it decided to break. It's a lot shittier of a position then it looks like. Notice the winch line and tow strap? Yeah, that was to keep my rig from rolling off that rock.
