Help,Cannot Remove Nut (rounded) to instal bracket

    Don't let the judgement of others sway you. You'll be fine. You're not going to learn by having someone else do it for you.

    After you learn how to do a few of these types of things then you'll be that much better of a mechanic.

    Thanks svdude. I was reluctant to try again and afraid of making it worse, but your comment made give it another shot and it’s all good now.

    I just got a set of 6point sockets today and tried it quickly from under the truck and i was able to easily remove the semi-rounded nut, so right away proceeded to install the light bar... took me about 1:45 mins. in total.

    The bar is pretty bright but able to dim it down since hooked up to my Switch Pros SB9100 so all worked right away.

    Well done!

    It is best to use a 6 point socket on 6 point hardware. You'll get much more bite on the hardware. Only use 12point stuff on 12 point stuff unless you're forced otherwise.

    I keep 6 and 12 point of all sockets, short/deep as well as standard/metric. 99% of the time I use 6 point tools but every once in a while I come across the 12 point hardware.
