Planning a trip for the end of March and I was hoping some of you had some decent spots around the border that are open end of March that you would be willing to share. Light off roading ok obviously and off the beaten path is fine. Any suggestions would be awesome and more than appreciated.

That's a long border. Any particular part of it?

Try Topsy Campground? I was back there once or twice in college. Good place to stare at the stars, also had some really mild FS roads that would meander south for MILES from what I remembered, but I never went to far - at least not like I do now. There's also some other good roads in the area, you pretty much wander the highway and see dirt roads connect up all the time.

EDIT: depending on snow, you might have a hell of a time getting there. Also, it's a solid 30 minute drive into Klamath Falls for supplies.

I'm more of a state/national park kind of camping in an RV type of guy so these are on the well worn path, although in March the traffic's going to be lighter.

I've stayed at Patricks Point which is on the California side. The campsite I was at had awesome views overlooking the cliffs. It's near the Redwoods so off-roading in the hills might be limited. Might be pretty windy in March too being right on the cliff facing the ocean. I've also stayed at Humbug Mountain state park. It was well isolated from the shore so it was more protected. I know there are some forest service roads that start from near the entrance of the park for light offroading/dirt road driving.

This vastly changes the responses you are going to get. Around here, we assume RTTs or dome tents.
As an RV user, you need to specify length, hookup requirements, and might have better luck on RV.net.
I've done the RV thing with parents, but we didn't do much down south. The only place we stayed was Collier Memorial State Park, which is nice. I know you can park a 24 footer with a full size truck easily.

Tons of good camping spots in my neck of the woods. 20-30 miles form the Cali border on I5.
