Help. Flare nut wrench size for Power Steering Lines.

    Quick help, please. Anyone know the size of needed flare nut wrench for removing the power steering lines (pressure and return) from the rack and pinion of 2nd gen? I don't have access to my truck, and I need to buy a wrench. I believe it's 17mm, but I'm not positive.

    so I have the 17mm flare nuts, but the nuts won't turn. it actually bend my flare nut wrench. Now what?

    But penetrating lube with several soakings is step 1.

    However, photos of this bent wrench is a must post.

    Well at least we know he's searching.:thumbsup: ^ Yes. Did you get it?

    And be careful because there is no way you should be applying that much torque to the nut without risking damage to it or your knuckles. If she's that seized, you could use a heat gun to carefully apply some heat to the nut. I wouldn't use a torch or open flame.

    I had to cut my lines to get the flare nut out. Sucked
