Im wondering what would be the best way to get clean vocals but with clean bass? Im looking at either full range or components. I have a set of pioneer 6.5'' 3-way that I got from walmart and they just dont have the sound Im looking for. I want clear vocals and nice bass, I know 6.5'' are not like subwoofers and I dont expect it to have the responce as a sub. But I want more than I am getting out of the pioneers that I have now. Just wandering because most component systems Iv heard has had more bass than most full range speakers Iv heard. Is that so or is that all in my head? Hears what Im looking at.

Im like 2 minutes from ordering the components. God deal on sonicelectronics that runs out tonight. $84 for the components and $49 for the full range free shipping. Also they have a good deal on some JL 6.5'' which would be the best? Rockford fosgate or the JL's?

In my personal opinion I wouldn't get those rockfords. Rockford Fosgate isn't exactly known for their high performance component sets. I've not heard them but I don't think they are anything special; at least the specs don't say so.

If you guys are looking for a GREAT component set on the cheap then you have no other choice but to get the Phoenix Gold RSD65cs set. It's very very inexpensive and I have a ton of audio buddies who were raving up and down about them earlier this year. A bunch of guys on the audio forums were blown away. Those who didn't believe the hype bought a set just to find out for themselves since they were so cheap. I've never heard anyone say they weren't worth every penny.

May be a few weeks it was free shipping so they will be in no hurry to get to me, but I could be wrong. Hope they come in at the end of the week but who knows.

I'm missing the logic in this statement. I know I know...a good brand is a nice starting point to see if something is worth looking at but it's not a good idea to compare brands instead of PRODUCTS!

We all know that Chevy makes everything from the Aveo all the way up to the Corvette ZR1. So we can't say that an Aveo is fast because Chevy is a fast brand of cars because I have a ZR1; that's just plain foolish.

Will these Rockford components probably sound ok? Sure, maybe. Is there a doubt in my mind that the Phoenix Gold set would have sounded better? Nope, I'm 100% sure.

I hope that's not the case. I just ordered a double din pioneer unit from them on Friday with free shipping. If it takes two weeks I'll be PISSED!

^Then I agree. The brand is indeed solid. Their stuff was even better a few years back too ;)

    Coolness!

Interesting looking basket design. Is it stamped steel or is it a plastic composite of some type? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

Keep us updated on how these sound. I'm planning on getting the Rockford Fosgate T152-S component speakers for the front and the T152 full range for the rear with a T400-4 amp pushing all of them. I've always had punch subs, but never tried their speakers before...interested to see how they perform. Congrats on the new speakers! :woot:

I installed them today. Sorry I dont have any pics but my camera has completely died.:( Ok the install was deff. more than I had planed for. The pioneers I had went in just fine with no problems but these are a lot bigger.

1st problem the window guide is right smack in the way, Its almost touching it with about 2-3mm tops to spare.

2nd problem the factory plastic mounting bracket was too small so I had to trim a lot off to fit the speaker in it.

3rd problem the door panel did not fit because the mounting tabs on the speaker, so I trimed the wood backing on the door panel.

And last but not least the triming required to fit inside the mounting bracket caused the mounting holes to be off just enough that a had to leave one screw out, so only 3 screws holding the speaker in.

Ok now that I have that out of the way. How does it sound?? Well compared to the 3-way pioneers they sound 100% better! Good lows, mids, and highs. I had to turn up the power on my sub to balance out with them. I am running them with 50w rms but only have the amp cut up about 1/2 way untill they brake in some. I can only imagine what they will sound like when they brake in and I turn the amp up.
