Can anyone help me with getting a base model black rear bumper? I really want to get rid of my chrome one bc it looks like crap on my truck. I have tried and failed twice with ebay with receiving both bumpers looking messed up and damaged. So my next option was to try to find a cheap one through the dealer but they aren't any help either, as I need a vin number from a base model to find the matching part. So can anyone help?

Plasti dip. It would cost you under $10(USD), a couple of hours of your time. It's so simple. And you don't have to change bumpers.

I bed lined mine with spray on bed liner. There are more photos on my build page. Took awhile to get it off and remove the plastic pieces but it was worth it.

How did you sand down the chrome bumper and did you use roll on or spray can bed liner?

I scratched the chrome with sand paper and a wire drill brush. Then 2 coats of etching primer. Then spray on bed liner.

Yeah, Plasti-Dipped my rear, too. Cleaned off the chrome with 409, used newspaper and taped off around the bumper, and blamo! It looks awesome and has held up very well.
