I can confirm that the Tundra retainer clip and 89348-35010 will NOT work! the clip will snap into the bumper just fine, the problem is that the sensor will not snap into the retainer ring. the retainer for our trucks is a 2 part retainer that our sensor actually slides into and holds firm. these 2 clips will not allow the sensor to stay in place.

so I ordered the Tundra sensor that remgu2000 used from Amazon. it will be here Friday. I will use the retainer clip and hold onto the sensor.

if you could duplicate the 2 part retainer clip for our trucks you could corner the market. the dealers only sell the complete sensor with retainer for anywhere from $235-$260. which is ridiculous.

nope, neither of those will work. I am going back to my dealer in the morning, they said they had a whole row of retainer clips in stock and we are gonna try to find one that will. but more than likely it will be a no go. I didn't have my stock retainer with me this morning but I am taking it tomorrow. if we can find a match I will definitely post it up.

I know, its all good. I am trying to help too. thats why I am going back to my dealer. I am hoping we can find an answer to this problem without having to buy new sensors.

right now it seems the $20 Tundra sensor on Amazon is the only fix.

If they dont have an answer, message here and I will talk to my salesman at my dealer and see if he has a different answer. nothing ever seems to be the same between dealers.

I definitely will. my dealer this morning asked me how I got all the part number I had. I told them google dumbass. so we looked at 3 or 4 different ones and I bought the 2, but he said if I brought in the broken one we might can match it. we will see. I hate how people think consumers don't know shit.

I have to go by my dealer today, I may stop and have a look at them. The entire mount design seems really mickey mouse for the price.

Sorry for the no response. Was super busy the last few days. Hopefully the $20 sensor worked for you.

Buy this sensor and clip for $20 bucks. It's the one I purchased in January. The sensor works great, the clip not so much. If you can design a less flimsy retaining clip I'll be your first customer and order a few.

went by the dealer this morning again and looked at all their backup sensor retainer clips. not one, and I mean not even one would work right on our trucks.

my $20 Amazon sensor will be here tomorrow, so here's to hoping...
