    Hey all,

Looking to jump on the black Friday deal on Icon suspension, but I'm torn between two set-up. I don't do any form of off-roading at the moment. I do however want to run bigger tire (275-65R18) and a smoother ride.

    $1457 - Icon Stage 1 w/ Icon AAL
    $1634 - Icon Stage 2

The only difference I see is that Stage 2's rear shock has the remote reservoir. Is that really needed? I can save $177 that can be spent elsewhere on the cheaper set-up .

Do you have any desire to start hitting some trails and taking the truck off road? If so, it might be a good investment. You're spending a decent amount already, why not get some extra performance at all four corners? Even with the res. the shock is a bolt-on piece in the stock location so it's not like it requires a whole lot of extra work.

That said, Stage 1 is still an upgrade and if you would rather spend the extra coin elsewhere, go for it.

FWIW, I have Stage 2, Camburg Ball Joint UCA's, and 265/70/17 Terra Grapplers on my commuter/weekend warrior and could not be happier. Completely different truck after the suspension went on.

I would like to go on trail/off-roading at some point since I got the 4x4, but in what scenario does the remote reservoir become beneficial over the non version ones? They do look cool tho, but at an addition $177 I can probably get me some WeatherTech floor mats.

The remotes hold more liquid to keep the shock cooler

Thanks for all the input. I ended up getting just Stage 1 without the AAL. Will just level it out for now and hopefully it's a much nicer ride.
