Hey guys I am looking to lift my 2017 trd sport. I am going to rn 265/70/17 KO2's. I am thinking 2" up front and 1-2" rear. Here are my ideas....

    Bilistein 5100's

    Bilistien 6112's

    Fox coil overs

    Icon coilovers

    OME set up

Now I was originally going to go with the full OME lift and 285's but realized as nice as it looks the drivability and mpg's isn't worth it for what I will use it for. And as the OME setup is nice with the lower lift from 3'' to 2'' up front and 1-2'' in the rear the rear dakars would be over kill.

now I am considering the fox or Icon due to the fact they come assembled so I would save on the install and would install them myself due to not needing a coil compressor. as long as I won't need UCA's to run them that is.

Plans for the taco are for snowboarding and maybe light trails or overlanding. Nothing too crazy. probably 80-90% road use.

    advise, and go!!!!.,...........

Icon Stage 4 with tubular control arms. I haven't had a chance to go off roading just yet, but it's a nice ride on the road.

Some large price differences depending on which brand and which lift kit you get. Have you given Toytec a look? Just to add more options lol.

The 5100's seem to be the most common around here though and the cheapest option you've listed.

Where did you get those wheels and tires from? I am looking for a set of black wheels and tires for my gray TRD off road.

The wheels are from @SCSPerformance and the tires are the ones that come with the TRD Off Road.

Okay. I guess the lift on your truck makes the Goodyear wranglers look wider. I will check them out. Found the black TRD pro rims on eBay for $1050 but looking at other options. Already feeling the pain in my wallet. Lol!

    Hey,
Give us a call or PM us and we can talk about the different options there are available. We have all those shocks and they each have their own differences. It all comes down to a couple different things that you may want or not want in a vehicle ride quality. With a 2" lift on the 17 Tacoma no matter what lift it is I usually recommend UCA's but they are not required, you can get away without them if you wanted.
Like i said we can clear some things up for you and guide you in the right direction for your needs with the truck if needed.

Sarcasm.... one thing that I have yet to come across reading the similar original post you have made is this...
Do you know the difference between your shock options? Digressive vs Progressive? Also to further that question are you aware of the coilover loads and lengths and how that will effect the performance of the truck?

This is just naming a few things that I found out later after asking myself the same question you have posed to everyone on TW... Look into the above and decide on a direction you want your truck to go in. Then GOOGLE everything you can think of and make a determination based on spending your money once (at least try your best)... just my 2 cents.

I'll now extend an olive branch on where to start. Find Croms, Mademan, Shmellmops, or Northwesttacos build threads and comb through stuff they have done. It will be a great starting point and probably save you some time on making your decision ...

Thanks for the info! No I am not aware of the differences hence this post. I definitely only want to do it once lol. Really only will see paved roads except maybe some mellow camping and then the snow for going up local ski hills. I may do some mellow trails but don't really have the time or friends that are really into it.

I will look up those builds you mention as well THX!!

@bski22 those are some crazy builds!!!! way more than what I am looking for for sure! Maybe @Crom might be close but still a bit much for me. He has a ton of info in his build thread though, I don't think I have ever sen one that detailed!!!

I would drop OME from your choices. They are terrible shocks.

    5100 is good.

6112 are better. And are paired with a matching spring. You can purchase with aftermarket top hat hardware so it will come assembled.

I've not tried the Fox, Icon, king brand shocks yet.

Call different vendors to get informed.

    Good luck

Yea man! No doubt. It's very easy in here to spend your money either wisely or frivolously. Funny how it works. Saw
That @Crom dropped you a little line. That guys the man. Happy new year and good luck.

The more you lift it , the more problems you have, the more money you spend to fix the problem. I did a 2" up front and 2" in back, Headstrong supplied the parts, I'm happy with the result.IMG_0466.jpg
