believe id be headed back to that palce and make them pay for it. btw studs are easy to replace on 1st gens. remove tire loosen brake shoes through the slot in the back take brake drum off tap stud out install new ones with the splines aligned and tighten up a lug or nut on it to pull it into place

Oh yea 4sure I'm calling them first thing in the morning. Could only imagine if I lost a tire on the way back home. It was a 120 mile drive back home from the tire shop. So I have to find a way to get it towed tomorrow too they better help with that also.

Well I didn't see anyone mention wheel offset. Backspacing matters more for clearing the calipers. It does affect where the tire sits a little bit. But the offset determines how far the tire sits either inboard or outboard of the hub. 4.5 backspacing is ideal but too much inboard offset with bring your tire closer to your UCAs

If you read furthermore you would see this has nothing to do with the uca's

Do our trucks have those brake clip things on the lugs like GM trucks have from the factory?

you know when i first read your post, i was going to advise you to check your lugs, but i read that you double checked them so i figured that area was good to go. this happened to my mom's G35 once when i took it in for a tire swap at an independent shop. they forgot to tighten down one wheel and all five lugs were loose. i noticed the sound right away and pulled over. i was pissed! lucky, no damage was done except for their reputation.

anyways, if you're referring to this here:[IMG]

they should always be taken off. it can cause certain wheels to not sit flush on the rotor if left on. they're used on the assembly line so the rotors don't move around during production assembly.

If the rubbing doesn't have to do with the ucas the only thing I ccan think of would be rubbing the frame. This happens to me when the wheel is turned all the way, but I'm not doing freeway speeds when I'm doing this lol.
