    hey guys,

I am selling a go kart on craigslist and got this email from someone. sounds kinda sketchy to me but has anyone had any problems selling things on craigslist? It is the first thing I have tried to sell and I don't want to have any problems.

    here is his message

Hi thanks for reply, i am a marine engineer, i am at sea right now. I am buying this for my dad as a gift. I can only pay through paypal at the moment as i don't have access to my bank account online(i don't have internet banking with it), but i have it attached to my paypal account, and this is why i insisted on using paypal to pay you,All i will need is your Registered paypal name and Registered paypal email address to make the payments, and if you don't have a paypal account yet, you can set one up at www.paypal.com it cant take you less than 3mins to do that, i will be expecting your Registered paypal name Registered paypal email address so l can pay you.

I have a pick up agent that will come for the pick up after payments has been sorted, and also do get back to me with your best offer.

l will be waiting for your reply asap

He will post the money, then claim the item was never received, file a paypal dispute and the seller will lose.

Yeh, like other have said, it's a scam. I've gotten very similar wording on several items posted on CL. You start asking them questions or ask for cash when their person comes to pick it up and they will stop writing you back.

Another tip for CL posting, create a junk e-mail account on hotmail or yahoo. I've got one specifically for these types of replies. Even if you get the CL responses sent to your main e-mail, always respond with the junk account. Example: mine is spam_reply@hotmail.com
I know anything coming into that account is trash and only check it every few months to keep it active. That way you can use your junk address for all of those places that require an e-mail but that you don't want clogging up your real e-mail.

    Good luck with your sale.

never take paypal for something you sell on CL. Cash only. You will have "disabled people" wanting to by also they are all scams.
