Aight, I'm looking to go with a re-gear when I get back stateside... I have 305/65/17 tires right now and I'll probably bump up to 33x12.5x17...

I am 4wd SR5 no TRD package, so what all would I need... I know jack about re-gearing...

I also have a LSD from a Sport sitting around too and like to put (probably have a shop do it since I'm a newb) that in at the same time...

what gearing are you looking at?

most i'd go with 33s is 4.56. unfortunately, 4.10s are hard to come by for our trucks. i'd get a front clamshell assembled to save on install costs and buy the R&P with master install kit and appropriate pinion flange for the new 3rd member. i'd definitely find a shop you trust or an experience mechanic friend to put the 3rd member together. parts would run you around $1100 with the assembled clamshell (front assembly) and expect $800-1000 for install prices from shops

pricing will be roughly the same no matter what gear ratio you go for

clamshell..yes, and the "good" bearings should be sufficient

wrong R&P...those are for the front clamshell...if you are having it assembled you already have these

without a factory e-locker you need this for rear

    R&P
    Nitro
    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-126915-nitro-8-4-tacoma-t100-rear-non-eld-ring-and-pinion.html

    or Yukon
    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-139110-yukon-8-4-tacoma-t100-rear-non-eld-ring-and-pinion.html

    with the install kit
    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-126921-toyota-tacoma-t100rear-install-kit-master.html

and most likely a new flange
    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-132975-toyota-tripple-drilled-flange.html

    or this flange
    http://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-1710747-05-toyota-pinion-flange.html

i needed the 2nd flange, the $55 one because the holes are different and the flange is larger...i would double check with them, and then have them double check their answer..if you do not have the correct flange you'll be stuck without a truck until you get the correct one
