Looking for opinions on the black emblem replacements I bought off ebay

They came with self adhesive tape, however, the emblems are hollow and there is not much for the adhesive tape to grab onto (see picture)

Anyone have similar emblems and found a solution to have more grab?

Guess that's what I get for cheap ebay ones, or are others similar?

    Thanks for any advice

I bought same ones. Don't worry, there is enough to grab. So far 4X4 is holding up with no problem (already had the V6). One piece of advise, take a black permanent market and color the edges of the white double sided tape (assuming you received the white one) before putting it on the truck.

the Amazon emblems are for the 2nd gen and are smaller than the 3rd gen badges.

Get these instead, they already have the double sided tape installed, same size as the chrome and are a direct replacement for the door badges.

I may try and fill the void with insulation spray foam and trim to give more surface area
But Pro-Taco hasn't had a problem, but thinking give them the best chance the first time!

Could you just fill the voids in the backside with a lightweight body filler or an epoxy with a microsphere filler?

Fill them with black silicone / RTV then once its set, use black double sided tape to attach to the body panel.

Sounds like a plan, give them a try. Worst case you take them off and use something else. Good luck

I took all my chrome badges off day one because well, they're chrome. But I do like the black "Tacoma" on the doors. Might just have to get me a set.

True, they should stick as is if the double sided tape is decent quality.

Heres the backside of the OEM I just took off, it's not a flat back and allows about the same surface area for the tape.

Ebay badges are same size as OEM
