Just picked up an 08 PreRunner SR5 with the factory alarm system, and I have no paperwork on it. Can anyone clue me in on it's functions / features? It is the one that has the LED light / button below the steering column. What happens when you depress this LED button? Does this make the security inactive? Is there a shock sensor? Maybe there is an online manual somewhere.

That sounds like the KARR aftermarket alarm that were dealer add ons... in other words it's not a Toyota alarm. I've not had a lot of luck finding info about it. They have a shock sensor and some have a tracking system although it was an old analog system that went the way of analog cell phones. I was able to put mine in the valet mode by turning the ignition key to "ON" and pressing the LED button for about 5 seconds. The LED stays lit continuously now but I don't get the horn beeps when I lock & unlock the doors nor the constant false alarms.
