I was driving my 2010 AC V6 to and from Scottsdale AZ from home in Northeren California and during a windy spell both ways I got a high pitch squeal coming from the vent system. I finally figured out that it only happens when I have the vent set to outside air as opposed to recycled air and only around 80 MPH. It sounds like some kind of alarm going off and scared the shit out of me the first couple of times it happened. Then, it just about drove me nuts. It only happens around 80 MPH with the outside air vent open. Has anyone ever heard of this, and what can I do to make it stop? Mike

2010 double cab here and I get almost the exact same thing. 90 mph will do it or 70 with a headwind. Very irritating as it does indeed sound like an alarm. I do not have a fix for this but will look into it this weekend.

    Edit: Ok, maybe next weekend.

I figured if anyone knew what it was this would be the place to find out.

No fix yet but I was able to capture the sound on my last road trip. The sound is audible in the video clip but is not nearly as loud as it gets. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuq90wCUNQw .

Guys this has to do with the seal around the windshield. The following TSB applies....NV006-07 AUG 07 Body - Windshield Wind Noise at Highway Speeds.

The next time it happens push lightly at the top of your windshield and I have a feeling you'll either see it change or go away.

My 2010 does it and I'm just waiting for my next service to have this and a couple of other minor things fixed by the dealer.

    Hope this helped.:)

The windshield? Wow, I would have never guessed. It is the most annoying high pitch sound I have ever heard in a vehicle.

I will try pushing on the windshield next time I hear the sound but it sounded to me like it was coming from the fire wall.
