Best bike rack ever. Other than that I like the kuat and dakine tailgate pad if I am hauling 4 bikes and 4people.

my rocky mounts were at the house when I got home today, just waiting for the front bed rail to show up so I can put them on.

The Rocky Mountain I just bungie the rear tire to a cleat, and the specialized fits without sitting on the bed rail.

I plan on getting a hitch mount. I like camping and what not so I'd like to keep the bed for those supplies. Plus leaving the wheels on and the easier access is a plus. The downside is it is less secure and easier for someone else to take if you are going to leave your truck unattended.

Continuing from @virvak2 setup. The "OrikasaGarage mounts" are 15mm Kuat Dirtbag mounts modified to sit on side rail. Would work directly into the front rail without modification, but i have a tent so space is of the essence. Rear tires for the bikes on the rail are strapped to my rear bed bar. Could easily strap to the sliding D-mount instead. Mounts are surprisingly stable with only about 1" side to side sway at handlebars. Pair of these coupled with a 1Up and the tent as a platform, i can carry 6 bikes and 6 people with a tent and fridge in the truck.

@5678ta I like that set up, I wish I had places to camp with an RTT. Only places I know are camp grounds where the campsites are next to each other. I go camping to get away from people and enjoy nature you have to hike or kayak in.

Thanks @JJ TACO Our group has 2 RTT's, a camper shell bed and an SUV. Most everywhere we go, parking is right up to the fire pit so the RTT made sense.

Has anyone tried the Rockymount? It seems like the easiest way to go since it attaches to the bed rails.

Im going to start riding for the first time, and going to buy my first mountain bike soon if any of you guys have recommendations, on the brands, setups, what to look for. Heard craiglist is a good way to go since man people already sell them with a bunch of upgrades.

@BGXtobe You can find good deals on craigslist if you konw what your looking at and what size bike fits you. If your just getting into it nothing beats the LBS they will make sure the bike you get fits you, and it does make a big difference. There are a lot of quality bikes to choose from look online and see what you like MTBR.Com is one place to start.

As for a starter bike. Craigslist is great if you know what you're looking for, can check a bike for fit, and know enough about working on them to figure out why it's being sold.

Huckingkitty or another mountain biking forum would be a better place to ask for that advice

Another vote for your LBS. Support your local economy. Create a relationship with a small business owner. Get personal attention from the purchase, setup, and maintenance down the road. Win win win. Not to mention if you're new to mtn biking, the LBS employees can assist in getting you the other gear you need and help you find trails to ride.
PS Budget for a quality helmet. You can't replace what's inside your skull.

A quality helmet will also be way more comfortable than a low end one. So it won't feel like a hindrance to wear it (and if it does, wear it anyways).

    Do you even rack bro?
I Love the Rocky Mounts. They hold the bikes great and they are white to match the whole black and white thing that I seem to be doing.
