I just noticed that when I unlock my car it flashes and beeps but when I lock the car it does not beep or flash like when I bought the car. it used to flash and beep when I would lock/unlock but it stopped when I lock it now and I would like to have it flash and beep for both. Please help.

Just to add more information. I added sound deadening on the doors today and put everything back together. Since it’s dark and I can’t work on it right now my guess is that I didn’t put the door latch and lock back together properly and so the vehicle doesn’t think it’s being locked all the way. I will update tomorrow once I have successfully put it back together and the latch and lock work smoothly

One of your doors is ajar.

Edit: Or the truck thinks it is.

I thought so too. It’s weird though because it’s not making the obnoxious beep like if I tried to lock it with a door open.

I could be wrong but you might have accidentally hit a sequence on your keypad to bypass the beep/ light flash. Check the owners manual. I believe there is a way to shut all of that off or bring it back pretty easily.

I just went outside and checked the door in question and it is not locking when the other doors lock and the handle is sticky. I will take it back apart in the morning and make sure everything is smooth again. If that doesn’t work I will follow the videos steps

Update!! It was in fact the door linkage not being properly set causing the latch to not engage I.e. car wouldn’t fully lock unlock

Lucky it didn't come detached after you closed the door!

Yeah very true. It was a little hard to open but it worked out and now everything works.

Thanks for this thread. I've got the same issue and will check this out. Just a couple miles past warranty, so perhaps the dealer will look at in good grace.

Hey just adding to this thread, my 2011 the driver rear door started not fully locking/unlocking with the fob or lock button inside every time a while back, then just not locking but it would still unlock sometimes, now it does not actuate at all with the fob/button. Now in a matter of a few days the beeps/drl flash with the fob became intermittent then stopped entirely only when locking, still works on unlock. Thanks to this thread I am going to start with the assumption that they are related! I’ll try to update when sorted or if I can’t figure it out
