So Tacoma World, I am in need of advice. I recently converted my 01 double cab to a 4x4 5 speed (Well not entirely 4x4, all I've got for the moment is the transfer case) and its amazing, super fun to drive! However........ At 700-900 RPM my whole car is shuddering, disappears as soon as I give it gas (doesn't matter if I'm driving or standing still, doesn't matter which gear I'm in either as long as the engine hits that rpm range the car shudders) I am pretty confident it is my rear transmission mount. The thing is super busted up and it's only being held in by two of the four bolts (Would take too long to explain why), I'm gonna run some ratchet straps around it tomorrow to help hold it down until the new mount is in. Would you guys say its ok to drive it for another week or two until the mount comes in, or will I destroy my car. Thanks!

I'm fairly certain that every mechanic would suggest you park it until it can be properly repaired.

It is after all your vehicle .

If there is no other way for you to get around like to work one does what one needs to do..

As nylon does tend to stretch the cheaper straps even more so .

As long as you keep checking the tension of the strap the worse that can happen is the mount fails the bolts vibrate out and things bounce around enough to bend the driveshaft maybe the front shaft of the transmission.

On the bright side it should not fall out completely

    ...we'll get there.
At the risk of really messing things up I say park it too. It bad right now, but it could get a lot worse.

On the plus side, you've got a good idea of what needs to be done

You may want to put some more info in your thread title. "Help!!" Implies you're trapped under your truck, "truck shudders at 700 rpm no matter what, HELP!!" will probably get more clicks

Sitting still in neutral? Trans mount will not cause what your describing. Did this all start when you did the conversion?
