Who else is taking it? For what? And has it done anything for you? I've been waking up at 2 am for months and couldn't fall back to sleep. Been taking organic hemp oil for 2 weeks and I sleep through the night now. Not sure if it's the hemp oil but I sleep now so I dont care. In NJ weed will be legal soon so I'll be able to step it up a bit.

A lot of the CBD products sold in the retail market barely have that much CBD in them at all to do anything. Know what you're buying before wasting money on something that is just labeled as having CBD. Such a big scam right now.

Have been considering taking it, have friends that do. Just need to do more research.

There are cbd oils that have zero THC (weed) in them. There are some that have a small percentage (3% or so)

Cbd oil has done wonders for my anxiety and joint pain issues..... Do your research and buy a pure form in the right mg strength... I have had no side effects at all, but I will tell you that you need it to be "built up" in your system for maximum effects... Meaning you can't take it like a tylenol and expect to feel the benefits right away. It usually takes a day or two of taking it for me to benefit from it..... I buy mine with 0% THC because of random swab tests at work, and so far so good..... I would recommend it to anyone who is reluctant to take the usual prescription pills from the doctor......

I’ve been taking Ambien for a few years on and off and it works wonders for helping me fall asleep but staying asleep is still an issue for me. The common theme for a lot of us with some sort of stress disorder is being awake between 2-3am. My mother in law started using hemp oil the she bought off Amazon and it has got me curious. I have a commercial drivers license and was concerned about positive tests during random drug tests. I did a fair amount of research and getting a positive is extremely rare (depending on concentration of oil) and even if a positive is detected the standard protocol is to run another test that looks for the thc and not some protein that triggered the false positive. I may have the details a little mixed up but there is another test. I forgot exactly what I was reading as I was high st the time... just kidding. The only thing that’s keeping me from doing it is the price. I can totally afford it but a bottle of ambien (generic) is only $3.00 for a refill. Anyone with more experience with this I’d really like to hear more about your experience with it and what concentration are you taking.

My only concern here is that Ambien is highly addictive, not just psychologically (depending on the person) but if you take it regularly enough it can cause a physical dependence that can lead to nasty physical withdrawals (similar to Xanax or Valium) that can be deadly in extreme cases. I had a family member that got addicted to the stuff simply because she needed it to help her sleep but after too many regular dosages she couldn't just stop taking it without extremely ill effects. Was sad to watch

In my experience cbd oil in 250mg strength has been my sweet spot. As far as taking it, two or three drips under the tongue is the most effective method, unless you are a vaper, in which you can buy e-juices with cbd in it but in my experience is not as effective..... I have always had bad experiences with prescription medications which turned me in the holistic direction.... We have random swab tests at work with 10 minute notice, however I make sure the oils I am using are 0% THC just because of that reason. I have never had a positive test come back. It is a little pricey as compared to a prescription drug under your insurance plan, but I take the addictive nature and zombie like state I will achieve taking those medications into consideration, which makes the price of CBD worth it to me personally.... your mileage may vary....

I was taking Ambien years ago. I loved it, but I'd wake up to a shit ton of e-mails of stuff I order the night before and don't remember ordering any of it.

    My two cents/personal opinions...

    CBD
Pro: probably safer than opioids (would be nice if we had more randomized control trials to prove this), best evidence seen on neuropathic pain (pins/needles nerve pain), some seizure disorders, overuse arthritis and cancer related pain. This is based on small studies.

Cons: not FDA regulated (like all herbal supplements/vitamins), may infrequently include synthetic cannabinoids (just google intoxication, not pretty). It may also cause dizziness, dry mouth, nausea, fatigue, somnolence, euphoria, vomiting, disorientation, drowsiness, confusion, loss of balance, and hallucination. Long term effects are unknown.

At this point is one of those "try it and see" drugs. Some people get great outcomes and are able to avoid use of more addictive drugs such as opioids. Suggested to avoid if under 25 years of age, probably due to unknown effects on the developing brain.

    For sleep:
If you have Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and struggle with feeling easily startled, there is evidence that a drug called prazosin may help (although you'll find studies that both support and reject its efficacy); talk to your PCP/psych if this is you.
My own research on the subject has led me to try these and found them helpful:
    - The physiology of sleep is poorly understood. We have drugs that make us tired/sleepy but no drug has been shown to improve sleep quality when looking at the stages of sleep.
    - Avoid screens a couple of hours prior to bed time (no TW/cellphone/tv/tablets/handhelds)
    - No TV in the bedroom
    - No alcohol or antihistamines ("PM" over the counter meds) prior to bed time since once its effect wears off you will be wide awake, at 2am.
    - No caffeine after 12pm.
    - No eating right before bedtime (wait 3-4 hrs).
    - Only stay in bed for 30 minutes if you are still awake (brain gets used to you laying in bed and will do the same nightly). Get up read a book and go back to bed when sleepy.
    - No eating or working in the bedroom.
    - Consider melatonin if you are yet lagged/need to readjust your sleep. Melatonin may work in some who are deficient, usually the elderly.
    - keep the room cool (~65F)
    - Unfortunately hypnotics such as Ambient and Belsombra are poorly understood and long term use may show no benefit (so basically you'll be back to square one but now have dependence on these drugs). If you're not on them, avoid long term use. There are many case studies of people cooking, driving, texting, emailing, etc while sleeping and having no recollection of this. Very real and common side effect. If you are on them already, check with your healthcare provider on your options.
    - Avoid benzodiazepines (xanax, klonopin, valium, etc) like the plague if you can, highly addictive. If already on them, check with your healthcare provider (can't just be stopped cold turkey).

Hope this helps someone with sleeping difficulties. There are several disorders that may not be fixed without the help of a healthcare provider. There are sleep medicine specialists who may be of great assistance.

Fortunately I haven’t ordered anything online but I’ve sent a couple of weird texts to a friend that was just a bunch of letters. He just assumed in was a butt text. Another embarrassing experience recently I started drifting off and my wife sawing me so she made me go to bed before I was out. On my way to bed it stopped to go pee ( I remember this part) but I ended up pissing all over the bathroom floor and my wife stepped in it when she was getting ready for bed. I’m glad she wasn’t too pissed.
I also have a prescription for Xanax but I rarely take it as I’ve read how addictive it can be. Fortunately I don’t have an addictive personality and I don’t drink or smoke. When I retire from work I may start taking edibles or other options that don’t require smoking- I’m not anti smoking but it would be counterproductive to me being a runner. This, by the way, I have found to be the best medicine. The more physically exhausted I am my mind is also exhausted.

    Mostly dust and dirt.
I’ve been giving it to my dogs. One for senile anxiety and one for seizures.
So far it seems to help at least a little.

I have tried a few cbd oils and all did nothing for me. Best product I’ve tried is the Delta 9, 4:1 ratio of cbd to thc chocolate triangles. Each piece is 6.25mg thc and 25mg cbd. Half a piece of chocolate and I am set. Feels great and knocks me out. Without it I usually wake up 3-5x a night

I figured if this stuff worked, the last 50 years would show that weed smokers are the healthiest, most well-rested, least anxious, and pain and cancer free people on earth.

Nicotine is used as a pesticide, just saying. I use an E cigarette, ex smoker for 6 years. Everyone quits eventually, the trick is to do it before your funeral.
