Got rear ended tonight. Pretty obviously not my fault. No idea on damages yet. Other driver did have insurance, and admitted fault to the police and told them the same story I did. Traffic in front of me started slowing down, so I did as well. He didn't. I think he wanted to get off at the upcoming exit and was looking to see if the exit lane was clear. And, I did catch the entire thing on dash cam.

Shit man, sorry to hear. That's the exact reason why I installed dash came as well. Clearly his fault and no reason for it. Hope the damage isn't too bad and you get the truck back quickly.

Impressive that you had the rear facing cam. I'm curious on your setup. Glad it looks like no one was seriously hurt.

I don't feel like scrubbing license plates out of pictures at the moment so this is all I can find that shows the damage. Pretty severe to the number and rear corner. But the bed is scrunched up some too. Hopefully no major frame damage

I doubt frame damage is an issue but the bumper can be replaced and the bed will most likely need to be replaced as well

Damn, sorry to see that happen to your truck. I put a dash cam in my truck a while ago as well for the same potential reason as this. If I get into an accident, I have my proof on video.

I know it doesn't mean much but that really sucks, you were so smart for having those cams going and you had the exact same reaction I would've had. I hope it all works out for you dude.

Awesome cams. I mean he would have been at fault by a quick look by any respectful policeman. But still. No doubt now.

That sucks though because that will always be on the truck. If it's not totalled. Didn't seen like it will?

And wtf was that guy even doing. He clearly punched it to go around you. What a shitty driver.

Ouch. I feel your pain. I got side swiped by a tourist. Mine was over 9000 in damage after all was said and done. New bed and bumper for sure. Might have some frame damage, hopefully not bad.

the 101 seems to be full contact driving on a regular basis. My wife had that same thing happen on the 202 a couple months back. Invasion auto body down around Greenfield and Juanita did great work for us getting things back to better than factory on her car.
