Boy if i ever used 4wd on pavement with the tundra....felt like all hell was going to break loose taking a slow sharp corner. I guess its referred to as crow hop.

Wow. Don’t use 4wd on pavement . You’ll break it. It’s not cheap

Assuming you are backing out onto a paved road: you are in 4x4 and not going in a strait line as you are transitioning from driveway to roadway. That means you are in 4x4 while on a surface that has no give like mug and dirt leading to the tires having to give. That means the tires are putting a boatload of stress on the axels/differentials and are hopping/skipping across the road surface.

If your climbing something 5+ inch tall like a curb in 4H with an automatic trans, and you squarely creeped up to the curb and/or stopped at the bottom . It will severely hesitate as the truck tries to haul its fatness up the curb. the same as trying to climb a curb in 2H. If this describes your approach to your drive way try adding a little more momentum to your appoach or shift it into 4L

How do you recommend backing over a curb into a narrow grassy gap between houses with a sidewalk placed right where your back tires land when your fronts hit the curb? And do it slow enough to not knock your kidneys or stearing alignment out
