Nice forums you all have here. I see a lot of good information and opinions floating around. It's nice to have a place to go to share ideas and ask questions.

I don't currently own a Tacoma but I plan on buying one within the next couple of weeks. I currently drive a lifted 03' Chevy Avalanche. It's a nice truck but I'm getting a bit tired of the size of the thing and my girlfriend hates climbing up into it. After much research, I've decided on a Tacoma. They seem to be awesome trucks, I'm really jazzed to be getting one. I'll probably have a few questions for you guys.

The Tacoma I plan on buying...

    Black
    4x4 Crew Cab short bed
    V6 Automatic
    TRD Offroad package

Are there any suggestions or upgrades any of you recommend? I want one with the non-functioning hood scoop but I'm not sure it's available with the truck I want. I just think it looks better.

Just saying hello....thanks in advance for any advice. :D

Welcome to TW, Vanguard. My wife complains about climbing into my stock height Tacoma too. Although now that I have had it for a couple months she is getting better at it. The first few times it was quite comical to watch...

With 4x4 and TRD you will probably automatically get the towing packing, but I'd check to make sure.

Good luck with the purchase! :D

    Thanks for the welcome. :)

I found a post (on this forum..thanks again) that had the website to order a new hood if I want it. Sweet.

I'm a Tacoma noob so I do have another question though. What is the difference between a "Prerunner" and normal configuration. I'm a bit fuzzy on the meaning of Prerunner.

Prerunner is the 4wd suspension. It's still 2wd, but it sits higher, has beefier shocks, springs, etc. You could do some light offroading on it.

Glad you like it. ndcouch is afraid of it. I pulled that out when he started threatening to invade Texas. It's the original battle flag of Texas Independence. I had to google your greek. I didn't realize the phrase had such a rich history. That's the great thing about this site, it's got edutainment!

    Welcome to TW, Vanguard!

Personally, if I was going to go with the a 4x4 DC, I would get the OffRoad, and then get the sport hood later. That locker just sounds like such a great thing. ;)

    Cheers!
