I miss the bike shows..haven't had the ability to get to any in a couple of years now between the general life we all live plus some home stuff.

 

Ct has the Brit jam in august. That’s a pretty good bike show. In haddam neck ct.

 

Question for our electrical guru (Harry) -

Trying to do my black dash mod and started with the AC/heater controls. Need to build a wire harness. Ref this thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/black-climate-control-swap.655341/.

I just tried to build the harness last night and did not have much luck. Couple questions: The A16 connector looks to be numbered as if your looking at it from the wire input side (this one you can tell because it is not symmetrical, top row has 3 pin outs on the left and 2 on the right). The A33 connector is symmetrical so it's hard to tell what side of the connector is pictured below. So I wired it as if looking at it from the wire input side like the A16. No dice. Then I rewired the A33 as if the pic below is viewed from the pin out side and I got lights but nothing else worked. Only the fan speed worked but that's not even part of this harness. What am I missing? Also, the A33 connector and pins are really small and don't seem to push into the connector easily. Can't even tell which way to orient the pins in the connector as the pin end is square.

I'll look into it and reply later if that's OK. I'm making dinner and have to do some online tests for work.

I can tell you that Toyota numbers the connectors so that the pins are facing you, not the wires.

 

Be sure to learn what makes a hybrid turn on or off 2 or 4 of the dash lights & emit that faint whispy scent of overheating circuit board - but the hybrid cells all measure good with a meter on each one directly.

 

@HAVOC have you done any sun amp diagnostics?

 

The only thing that comes to mind when you say sun diagnostics is when I used this machine a very long time ago.
Probably not what you're talking about.
