Another busy weekend... Soccer game today and tomorrow for the kiddo. Good thing they're both home games.

 

Sounds like the guy I work with. Everyday after work he has either softball, lacrosse, or dance for one of his kids. He's driving all over.

 

Yeah man... The life of parents who have kids in sports, etc.

 

Just remembered I forgot to order the grommet for my floor. No water crossings until I buy one.

Off to the kiddo's game.

3-3 tie yesterday after being up 3-0. Had two go off the other team's post that could have given us the win towards the end, but they also had a great opportunity that my kid saved (he's the goalie) on a 1 on 1 breakaway at the end.

 

5-3 loss today.

Today's game wasn't for our team. It was for another team that we got asked to fill in for. Still sucks.

 

Might be looking for one of these real soon. Michael really wants one too.



And no, not getting rid of the taco.

 

Decent day today. Worked, then went to the in laws. Did the 400w anytime mod so now the inverter is 400w regardless of whether I'm driving or parked.

Installed the fridge. Have to use the inverter in the bed. Didn't have my hydraulic crimpers and I'm waiting on the molle panel anyhow. This will suffice for now. Still need to find a route from the cab to the bed ... The cab is easy, it's the bed I need to keep looking into.

Also was able to make a bit of progress on the retaining wall I'm building. The digging and prep work is the hardest part. Doing a 2 tier wall with inserts/cutouts for container gardening. Lots of work but will look awesome when done.

Hello all!
Probably a year lurker and 1st time poster here so be gentle! glad to be a part of the Tacoma family. I currently own a 22 trd sport. I have a quick question, I purchased the prinsu front and rear roof racks.
I am looking at purchasing the Alu-cab hard shell to accommodate the bed.
The question is, I know I can install the prinsu rack on the shell, but I was curious if anyone has pictures of their setup? When I was looking at the shell installed it almost looks like theres a half inch to an inch rise on the shell from the front of the 4 door cab. I did try scouring the internet but no one has really posted about a correction or mod, so..... I was curious if theres risers for the front roof rack to make the setup flush between both?

Welcome to the group!!! Where abouts are you? I'm in Shelton.

I can grab a picture of my setup in a bit. I have a Sherpa rack and a Smartcap. If I were to put a rack on the Smartcap then I believe it would also sit technically higher than the cab. From my understanding there are no risers for the mounting feet of the cab rack. Ideally you'd want those pretty firmly mounted so the rack 1) can hold cargo etc and 2) doesn't rip off and distribute your shit all over the road. The only risers I know of are on the cross bars themselves but that would only make stuff taller and level not lower and level.

Hey Jrs13086, I am over in Norwich. I am also looking for some decent shops in CT to order things from and have installed. I have learned i want deaver heavy leaf springs, but a dobinson lift so far. I am putting pieces together with a list as I go. Still figuring out my overall build, but I do have a few idea's. Looking forward to making friends here and bouncing ideas off each other. That's going to be a nice setup. The Deaver stuff is nice and the dobinsons stuff is reallllllly nice...I almost went dobinsons but went with the stage 2 ironman instead solely based on price.....which was about half when I compared apples to apples. Heavy leaf pack will definitely sit taller until you pack it with gear so just FYI. I see the gap you speak of from that photo.

What made or is making you choose the alucab cap over another brand? It's a great cap, I'm just curious.
