Yes, but before I do that, I'm going to pull it apart and measure some things before I start drilling.

Some of us don't have welders or tools to do that ...

Where did you get the handles from?

The grab handles I found on Ebay. If I remember correctly, they were $15.99 for the pair. If you do use them, the frame requires the holes that you drill to be countersunk (for flat head bolts) on the inside to allow for the jack arms & mechanism clearance.

I found myself in that situation. I recently retired from a large metal fabrication shop and while working I had access to all sorts of machining and welding. With the conversion I did, the only assistance I had was cutting the 3/8" aluminum plate. The rest of it was using a drill or small drill press and the only unusual tools were the 90° countersink and the metric step drill bits.

I do miss having the availability of all the metal working processes, but in light of the COVID-19 crisis, I think I picked the perfect time to retire.....

gonna need to figure out a good jack setup
Sold my old Arcan ALJ3T a while ago, unmodified. And even though it's all aluminum, it weighs about the same as the past steel one, that's cheaper.
Might check to see if Costco still carries them for sale.
They might be significantly lighter than the HFT jack, for around the same price.

yet another reason I wanna learn to weld
FWIW, someone nearby might be able to
I've had neighbors sometimes who can, and one quoted me about $20 on a small job
which is probably cheaper than buying the whole machine

I used it today to rotate the tires. It worked a treat! It's so much easier to roll around and position in a gravel driveway!

The inside measurement is app. 5 1/2". That is the space between the jack's side plates....

Thanks. A little too narrow for my Ironton which is 6-7/8 between the rails. I wonder how long the 3 ton axles are.

I can extrapolate some WAG's based on a few of their pictures.

Maybe a call to PE would be helpful. I've emailed them while I was doing this conversion and never got any responses......
