The pair look great in the garage at the moment haha. In progress but no where near ready to bolt in like that D60. Hunting down some full on custom brakelines and waiting for High Angle Driveline to rebuild there business (CA camp Fires...) to send off the front shaft for crawlbox lengthing. Rocking the 2wd SAS Prerunner at the moment.

I’m jelly of the crawl box. I had one ordered, but life happened and I canceled it. I’ll probably never do it now.

I’m 2WD at the moment as well. I need to have a new Driveshaft made too.

I’m also stuck in 4WD (FWD) because after the 1” body lift, the shifter hits the floor...

I need to redo the twin sticks and get the Driveshaft to remedy this.

Holy crap. Just spent parts of the last 2 days reading from page 1. This thing is WAY further than I think I will ever go with a truck again, but is way badass. And I know it's a Tacoma forum but those XJs are awesome as well.

Ha! Thanks Mike. I have no delusions though. Still tough to keep up with those little 1st Gens

Can’t wait to get this thing back on the trail.

Thanks man. The Wife’s XJ has made me look bad more than once...

It really is something what that thing on 33s and stock axles can do.

The ARBs obviously make a big difference. I’ve done things with the Tacoma that Jeeps with no lockers couldn’t do.

Haha. my last real wheeling rig was an 88 4 door XJ. After a couple of Wranglers it was a nice change of pace. Had an 8.8 rear and a "built" D30 on 35s and kept up with all of my buddies in their built up TJ Rubicons. My last time wheeling at Rausch.

    Nice.

The Wife’s XJ came already regeared with ARBs. I don’t think I would’ve spent that kind of money to build stock axles, but it was already done, so...

It is an 8.25 in the rear, so that helps. I did put chromoly axles in the 30. So far, they’ve been holding up.

The flatbed is 100% finished. I cleaned up the tail light wiring today. I went way back into the factory harnes and removed all the extra and duplicate wires.

I wired up the LED bar and pods, and installed the OBA chuck.

So, that’s another big project checked off the list.

I had to get this converter box to change the three bulb tail light harness to a regular four wire trailer harness for the tail lights.

I think I’ll tackle redoing the twin sticks next. Maybe the new master cylinder, or plumb the OX locker. (anything to put off tubbing the front...)

These new RST sticks are MUCH nicer than the old Low Range Off-road sticks.

It’s a shame I have to cut them up

It’s no big deal. I have so much to do, if I have to wait for parts, I just move on to the next thing.

Way cooler rigs than mine on here, but thanks man.

I am until Marlin releases their new rack. So, could be forever...

My front ARB is leaking AGAIN

It was rebuilt when I went to 4.88s in October. I drove to Moab right after the 500 mile break in. Then realized my rear Diff was broken when we got home.

Has like 5,500 miles and six days of wheeling on it.

Seriously considering switching to the Eaton E-locker. I’m so glad to be rid of the ARB in the rear.

This makes the 4th time I’ve had an ARB leak through the seals in my truck. Twice each front and rear.

Luckily, I had them built by ECGS. At least they take care of it. I feel bad for those who deal with places that are not so easy to get along with.

Anecdotal fact. The XJ has ARBs too. They’re over ten years old. It’s 11* F here. Neither of those leak.

Chase at ECGS says he’s been fighting with ARB, and they have finally admitted that there’s a manufacturing defect with the current seals.

Last thing I need right now is ANOTHER project...

On a good note. I did get a little more done today.

I plumbed the OX locker today. It was really simple since I already had the ARB setup from before.

ECGS sent a new ARB solenoid With the correct fittings for the bigger diameter air line that runs to the OX.

As simple as removing the old solenoid, Installing the new one, re-attaching the vent line, and plugging in the new air line.

Reducer that screws into the side of the diff cover and accepts the push lock fitting.

    All hooked up.

I just ran the breather up and zip tied it to the Wack Rack

Is there air blowing out of the breather when the locker is engaged?

Cool. Sounds like you’re right about it being over filled then. Mine did that once.

If I’m pulling my front diff again, I’ll do the steering rack at the same time. Probably end up doing the Solo rack I guess.

I’m sure The Marlin rack won’t be ready anytime soon.

Even if it is, knowing them, there will be a LONG wait to actually get one.
