HID Headlight Upgrade

    Just getting started
    So looking into upgrading to HID headlights the site I was looking at says I need ta relay harness and warning/ error canceller. Has anyone does this and do I need these extra items thanks for any help in this matter.

    The relay kit is recommended as cheap protection for your factory harness. You won't need the "warning/error canceller".

    Dude just do leds. I got a kit on Amazon for 50 bucks. Crisp pure white. 3 year warranty. 1000x easier installation. The kit on Amazon is called black panther led kit

    Thanks for all the kind words.

    We actually have some pretty good reviews for both our LED and HID Kits installed in newer Tacomas, both of which have lots of installation/DIY help as well as images of the final results. Both are good ways to upgrade your headlights - and you're absolutely right, if you go for LEDs, look for ones that can be adjusted, as the diode positioning is going to make all the difference in the world about whether LEDs look great or terrible in your housings.

    Generally speaking, you're not wrong. There are plenty of aftermarket LEDs out there that do a poor job of reproducing the OEM beam pattern, but quality kits with well-placed (and/or adjustable) diodes can get you very close. You're always dealing with a housing designed with Halogens (and Halogen levels of Light Output) in mind, so results will vary, so do your research ahead of time and you can find something that works for you.

    I want to go HID, but don't want to put money into and have issues. I had DDM i think on my last truck and never had issues... My camaro did though

    Was it worth it over halogens?
    On my 2nd gen it did better but not worth the extra money better
