I see youre in Virginia. I have had my front bumper installed since April 2016, and never had any issues with no front plate. I think that not having a front plate is a secondary offense, meaning if you get pulled over for something else, they can add it on. But you cannot get pulled over just for not having a front plate

Hmm interesting. I got pulled over for this reason when I was 18 and driving my sister's car. She had just been in a fender bender so the front plate was up in the windshield. The cruiser actually whipped on his lights and made a u-turn to pull me over. I was scared cause it was my first time being pulled over and they said that I looked nervous so I let them search the car. As I look at it from a more experience I think they were just using my ignorance to help train a new guy they had with them. I'm in stafford but I've worked in loudoun for most of the past 13 years. Maybe ive seen your taco out there :)

I'll have to take some pics in the daytime but the gaps look pretty normal to me. I'm far from an expert but I know there needs to be space for flexing or else you would be damaging fenders and/or ripping fender flares off when wheeling.

Haven't gotten pulled over for no front plate yet and it's been on for a year.

Edit: gap on your passenger side does seem larger than drivers side. You may be able to even out by loosening mounting bolts and adjusting. I remember doing that on my install.

I was lucky enough to find a Cheap Amazon bumper that ship it to me in maui Hawaii for free. Not perfect but I'm happy with it. 20210728_163301.jpg
