When you're driving? Starting up? Braking? If it's not the brake pads getting worn too low, it could be a loose belt

Huh, I'm out of ideas... unless you have a car alarm in your Taco and there's a shorted wire that's causing it to beep intermittently???

Belts squealing? That would be my guess but then I haven't heard what you're hearing.

Have you popped the hood and tried listening around while the engine is running?

It is probably a wind noise if going over 60 miles an hour.

the reason i ask is my cluth pedal made an awful noise when i first got it some grease helped but my throwout bearing makes a high pitched noise and it took me a long time to figure out what it was

Worn brake pads have a metal-to-metal grinding sound, but only when you apply the brakes...

Intermittent problems are terrible to diagnose. Be careful when driving around and having your mind trying to figure it out.

A while ago, I was involved in an accident while driving with a dealer tech. I wanted him to listen to the noise I heard from my Galant's cabin. We got into an intersection with only YIELD signs. I thought I slowed down to yield, so I proceeded to cross the intersection, while partially looking at what the tech was doing.

My right fender got hit by a crossing car. The other guy was heading home from working a nightshift. But in the back of my mind, I know I could have avoided the accident if I was concentrated on the road the whole time.

i know what you are talking about..take it back to the dealer and see why its cutting on like that...it is a safty feature for speed..it is suposed to start making that noise at 110 mph. and not cut off untill you have reduced your speed.

This is an old thread but i just heard that loud siren noise from under my truck too. i had just applied some brake parts cleaner on my brakes and put in fuel injector cleaner in my engine and took it for a spin. the siren went off twice, while i was driving at about 25mph and then stopped about 2 min later. now i haven't heard it again. what is this noise?
