My 2020 TRD PRO with AT rolls back immediately after I take my foot of the brake pedal (with the transmission in Drive). Does Hill Start Assist work in your TRD PRO? Thanks in advance.

Does it start working after some roll back? Folks have said that it is not the greatest when it does work.

    Does your crawl control work?
That's been a issue with some and considering that the hill assist is part of that feature..... maybe give that a try as well.

I haven’t let the truck roll back for more than a foot. My 2017 Limited would not roll back if I let go of the brake.

The Limited, SR, SR5, and Sport have a different brake system (typical vacuum boosted) and ABS. The OR and Pro have electrically assisted brake boost (steroids), so somethings work differently for both the ATs and MTs.

Like @JaCado said, CC / MTS was not working on some trucks, IIRC.

Funny you're reporting this too. On my 19 I have never experienced what I would expect when I heard "hill start assist." the truck will roll back and the brakes start going nuts...sounds like CC in slow mode. I never trust it anyways as it lets you roll back too far and doesn't actually fully stop you, just slow you down. I just left foot brake when I need to.

Many thanks for your responses! I prefer not to take the truck back to the service department for repairs unless absolutely needed - a poorly trained mechanic can do more harm than good.

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
Mine rolls back once in a while and ABS kicks in, slip indicator goes nuts, things are beeping so you jam the brakes hard and next time they stick and it doesn't roll back. Not sure if maybe its the duration you hold the brake before disengaging, how the torque converter is feeling that day or what but most of the time, it does not roll back for me.

Yep. ORs and Pros have much higher line pressures to brake the spinning wheels much harder.

It's a really good TCS on all 3rd Gens. Yours even more so.

Right. I should have been more clear, I was referring to manuals with the brake booster.

They all have brake boosters, the Off Road and Pro have the electric booster and all the others have the traditional style vacuum booster.

Haha fair enough. I was referring to the electric booster exclusive to the OR and Pro. I should have been more clear.

I experienced hill assisted tonight for the first time, I thought something was really wrong with my truck, dash was flashing, relays clicking, was pretty weird, but I guess that how it’s supposed to work.

    this and that...
hill assist shouldnt have any sort of lights flashing or clicking or what have you. the truck is in a hold position until you get into gear and get going. you could even be on a steep incline and let go the brake and the truck will continue to standfast for a good 5 seconds before it starts rolling backward.
