    Hey everyone,

I’m not too sure where to post this, my other post got deleted so im reposting this.

I recently started a company called Hitch Vault, I created an aluminum lockbox that can store your keys securely on the outside of your vehicle. This is useful for anytime that you don’t want to worry about losing your keys while hunting, fishing, or doing anything else outside.

It is made of 6061 aluminum which is then anodized, the top is milled and has a stainless steel insert. All the tolerances are very precise so the box is water and debris resistant.

For more info or if you have any questions you can check out the website https://hitchvault.ca

    None as of yet
I've seen similar out there but this looks like a good piece of work. How is the end cap attached since that is exposed. also how far into the hitch does it sit. I can see the potential of it getting pushed too far in if its short and being a PITA getting out.

I wonder how well this thing would work with our hidden hitch steel plate bumpers. With the hitch being behind the license plate.

Okay so, the end caps are 3/8 aluminum that are machined for an interference fit. They are then pressed in with a hydraulic press. The total length of the vault is a little over 6". On my receiver, the hitch is open so it can just be pushed right out the back. Ive had mine in my hitch all through last winter and it still moves freely.

i actually havent tried that. A buddy of mine is going to start making aftermarket bumpers and hes going to have a hidden compartment that a vault can slide into.

    Two things:
    1. I'm not sure that printing the logo on the end cap is a great idea. It advertises what is there.
    2. Your first post got deleted because you didn't have the required 50 posts, so you reposted, again without 50 posts? Not trying to be a jerk, but rules are there for a reason.

No prob, as the company is quite new I want to show off the logo and that it represents high quality. These are very well built and designed to take a beating. They cannot be broken into easily.

As for the new post, I looked through the faq and couldn't find anything about the number of posts. Im also a noob at using a forum, anyways I have over 50 now.

    Scott.

    He’s at 50 now so it’s a moot point.

Yeah to each their own, I don't trust my fob to 2 tiny pins. With the hitch vault you can use whatever pin you want or replace it whenever you want. As for the hitch safe, when it gets gunked up i think it would be hard to flush it out.
